A little history

Yakiniku (焼き肉/焼肉, for "grilled meat" is a Japanese method of cooking meat, vegetables or fish.

The Japanese motto is "strengthening the people". They love to gather around food and enjoy a beautiful summer evening with family and friends, around a traditional Japanese grill. For this, there's nothing better than a Shichirin, a small, compact and versatile table grill, easily transportable to create conviviality on and around the dining table.

The advantage of the Shichirin is that you can sit together around the fire and prepare small portions of food as you please.

Friends and family gather around the grill, each responsible for their own food, comparable to a gourmet barbecue. Shichirin is made of ceramic with quartz and cordierite and fired at high temperatures, reaching up to 900 degrees. The Japanese use binchotan charcoal, a high-quality charcoal that can reach these extremely high temperatures.

The Shichirin is easy to clean thanks to its glazed exterior and can only be used outdoors with briquettes, self-igniting briquettes or charcoal. YAKINIKU offers round and rectangular models for an authentic Japanese grilling experience.

The various types of cooking

The Shichirin barbecue offers a variety of ways to cook:

- The advantage of ceramic barbecues is heat retention. So you don't need a lot of charcoal for cooking that can last several hours.

- With the Binchotan, you can achieve extremely high temperatures by simply adjusting the air supply.

- Direct cooking, ideal for searing pieces of meat

- Indirect cooking, placed in a place where there are no coals, your food will cook slowly, retaining all its aromas.

- Griddle cooking, ideal for vegetables and seafood.

Accessories :

- The teppanyaki can be perfectly combined with the rectangular Shichirin. With this plate, you can practice the refined technique of Japanese cooking right in your own garden. - Round teppanyaki : The word "teppanyaki" literally means "to grill on an iron plate" and is derived from "teppan", meaning iron plate, and "yaki", meaning grilled, roasted or fried.

                                                              Yakiniku6

- Skewers : With these stainless steel barbecue skewers from Yakiniku, you can gently and carefully skewer fish, meat or vegetables. This way, your ingredients stay intact. Includes 20 pieces in a deluxe stainless steel storage case. Available in 1, 1.5 and 2 mm diameters.

                                                           Yakiniku7

- Yakiniku blowpipe: By being able to add air to your burning charcoal, the Yakiniku blowpipe easily awakens your Kamado. The bottom of the blowpipe is narrower than the top, allowing oxygen to leave the blowpipe at considerable speed. The scoop at the end of the flashlight is ideal for distributing your charcoal from a safe distance, which is very important when lighting your Kamado. You can also use it as a bottle opener. This stainless steel flashlight is suitable for lighting all YAKINIKU® Kamado and Shichirin models.

Coal : it's important to use quality coal for perfect temperature

- Bichotan : Binchotan is a type of charcoal with an extremely high carbon percentage, guaranteeing an almost pure composition. And that's what you taste. Binchotan is traditionally made in Japan.

White Binchotan Maitiew burns at a constant temperature and produces no smoke. It has a long burn time, averaging 4h30. The charcoal bed can reach a temperature of 870 to 1000°C.

- Briquettes Hexagon sawdust: These charcoal briquettes are made from sawdust. This gives an excellent taste sensation and is also environmentally friendly. They also have a long burning time, but do not burn as hot as Binchotan.

To conclude

As you can see, a Shichirin is above all a philosophy. The particularity of Shichirin grilling is the warm gathering around the fire. The food is presented on the table in small portions, similar to that of gourmets. When using the Shichirin, friends and family take their places around the grill, each preparing their own food as they wish.
